The Eight Limbs of Yoga

Today there are 36 million people practicing yoga in the US and yoga has become a $16 billion dollar a year industry. Yoga has become so mainstream we can even see it being represented in various forms of advertising. Often we see yoga being represented as a workout class consisting of yoga poses. We see this shaping of the body into certain yoga poses represented as the whole of yoga. If we practice from this belief we sometimes miss the mark completely by eventually becoming more identified with our bodies through the constant striving of physical achievement. Yoga postures although very beneficial and a necessary part of the path, are just one limb of an eight limbed tree.

Join Teresa Van Eyk RYT500 for our new ongoing offering and gain a fuller understanding of the wider scope of yoga through study of the Eight Limbs of Yoga from the Yoga Sutra of Patanjali.

Each session consists of a teaching and open discussion on the limbs followed by a 30 minutes practice of pranayama (breath work) and meditation.

Walk ins are welcome, punch cards can be used and unlimited packages are honored. CE credits available for yoga teachers.
