Class Descriptions

Hatha Vinyasa - moderate

A slower flow style vinyasa yoga practice with movement from pose to pose, linking breath, body and mind. This practice teaches us how to use our breath and bandhas (energy locks) to move energy and stabilize from the inside out. Yoga postures (asana) and breathing techniques (pranayama) are used to help strengthen and tone the pelvic floor, diaphragm, lungs, heart, and mental functions as well as helps balance the five systems of the body.  All levels are welcome to attend this moderate class, modifications will be given.

Gentle - gentle 
Gentle Yoga includes postures (asana), breath work (pranayama) and some meditation. These postures and practices are intended to nourish and replenish the body, while calming nervous system and mind. Gentle Yoga is a beginner friendly class with modifications offered, but experienced Yoga students will also benefit from slowing down the poses and including gentler, more restorative practices. 

Core Flow - moderate/vigorous

Core Flow is a fire practice with emphasis on core strengthening, stoking the internal fire, strengthening digestive health, and increasing your energy levels. Get in touch with the your core and find your true center through, bandhas (energetic locks), deep internal engagements, twisting postures, pranayama and meditation. Some yoga experience is recommended.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga helps to increase flexibility, improve range of motion and brings quiet and stillness to our everyday lives. Mindful movements from the Taoist tradition, a great compliment to our yang (busy) activities. Work deeper into the body's connective tissues through timed, long, passive holds.

 Align & Refine

Slow movement with an emphasis on safe and integral alignment in poses. Beginners and seasoned students alike can enjoy time on the mat while learning correct alignment or refining your postures.

Warm Vinyasa - moderate/vigorous

Designed with the same intentions as Hatha Vinyasa (see above), this practice offers an opportunity to move, flow and de-stress with heated vinyasa. Vinyasa means to place in a special way and each class is designed with a specific energetic intention and presented with intelligent sequencing and wise progression (Vinyasa Krama). Our experienced teachers are trained and certified to keep your body safe and help you modify poses to your body type and personal needs. Our warm yoga classes are heated to about 80 degrees. Some previous Yoga experience is recommended.

Ashtanga Yoga - vigorous

This dynamic practice synchronizes the breath with a progressive set series of postures created by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. The primary series realigns the spine, detoxifies the body, and builds flexibility, strength and stamina. Join us in this guided practice, a set series of poses, and work towards improved circulation, a light strong body and a calm mind. Previous Yoga experience is recommended before joining this level 2 class.

Yoga Basics (5 week series) - New to Yoga page

 This five week journey, led by Satya Yoga owner, Teresa Van Eyk RYT500 & ERYT200 teaches the   

 foundations of Yoga practice and is suitable for all adult ages and levels. Together we will:

 • Explore how Yoga works on a physical, mental and emotional level.
 • Learn the biomechanics of breathing and breath techniques for relaxation and balancing the systems of the body.  
 • Learn safe alignment and modifications in classical Yoga asana (poses) and sun salutations.
 • Create healthier habits and find support among like minded community.
 • Practice in an welcoming and nurturing environment, where ALL are welcome to come    

    and experience the JOYS of Yoga.  

 Yoga Basics 2 (5 week series)​

Perfect for the returning beginner or for students with some previous experience. Basics 2 includes more flow from pose to pose as students develop stamina and coordination. Practices include breathwork and postures and are gentle to moderate. 

Mindful Flow

A moderate vinyasa practice for students who have been practicing for 6 months or more. A slow flow style of practice, Mindful Flow links together body, mind and awareness in a breath centric practice of yoga. Practice includes meditation, breathwork, and deep relaxation, and are of a moderate level of intensity. 

Yoga for Less Stress

This series is designed to help soothe and restore the  stimulated nervous system. Gentle yoga postures, breathing techniques and meditation to reduce stress, tension and anxiety will be explored. Perfect for all levels and beginners too. 

Shake Your Soul

Shake your soul is the experience of dancing from the inside out. In this unique approach to mind body exercise you discover your soul in motion. In addition to all the  traditional benefits of exercise, you experience the added joy of your spirit inspiring you, inspiring your movement, and bringing inspiration to your life. Clarity of mind also increases as your brains motor center, the cerebellum, is in full swing. Neuroscience research points to the power of dance as one of the best ways to create mental clarity and health. $5


Guided Healing & Meditation

This guided meditation is offered the first Monday of each month and is especially designed to help you escape from the stress and strains of life and discover an inner world of calm, peace and  joy. During the guided meditation energy healing will be give to each participant by trained energy healers. The circle is led by Nancy O' Donohue, healer member of and licensed trainer for Healing in America, the U.S. branch of England's the healing touch. Established in 1954, the Healing Trust is the largest healing organization in Europe. This healing circle format originated in England where it is used in hospitals and cancer centers to promote deep relaxation and support the body's own self-healing mechanisms. $5 suggested donation.
